Diplomat Motel

The motel is outdated and needs some updating. The location is great and if you get the balcony rooms you get a great view of the ocean. Directly on ocean and on boardwalk. Within walking distance to everything on the Blvd. No problems with AC, shower had hot water, fridge keep products cold. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend get away.

The lady who runs this place is absolutely the most amazing hotel owner I have ever met. I have had to stay here for a couple months because I’ve been taking some time off work and Candy gave me the best rate ever to stay! Don’t believe many of the reviews. These guys are whiny douches. The rooms are clean, the maids are nice and the pizza joint downstairs is great. They have good deals and it’s so convenient. I eat there three or four times a week. I have locked myself out and the manager is there within ten minutes. Sure it’s not a Hilton but it also isn’t $150 Plus a night. In life you get what you pay for but in this case I actually got a lot more. If you’re on a budget then this is definitely the right place to stay!!! Go see Candy or Frank. They’re awesome!

The owner is awesome; she's super helpful, understanding, has a great personality, is super nice, and if any sort of issue arises she handles it promptly and efficiently every time I've needed her or some help! Some of the rooms need a little fixing up, but what is needed is minor; the fixes needed/and that have been fixed were caused from previous disrespectful tenants, not from neglect. Great size and great pricing for a room that has two queen beds, along with a small kitchen that includes a mini oven too! And a full size fridge! They also have a pool for you, and the kiddos if you have any, to relax by and swim in. Another fact I love about this place is that she allows animals, as long as they are fixed! (She has her own bearded dragon in the check in area that's such a sweet cutie patootie!) It's so hard to find such a great motel/hotel that allows animals as well. Bonus number two is they have a pizza place connected to the motel and guests get a discount on food there; plus the place is open until midnight! I like to go for a late night snack of an ice cream cone every now and then. I would highly recommend staying here; either for vacation (it's a quick walk to The Skywheel and boulevard with lots of shops and food! And it's right on the beach; you can walk out of the back entrance and be right there at the beach access plus they have some rooms with ocean view!) or even as a weekly renter! It's a pretty quiet hotel for being on the boulevard just a few blocks from The Skywheel; most noise you will hear is music from cars passing by or motorcycles/sports cars revving their engines.

My room needed to be cleaned considerably more. I'm sure during the peak the place is filled to capacity and the guest run the small staff ragged but still i think it is just required to mop the entire floor not just the walk ways! Also had food spots on the walls and the chair for the desk is cloth, ripped, filthy and should be burnt not just thrown out! Now the good, big rooms hot showers, right on the beach, patio with block divider for security but not obstruct the ocean view. I felt safe on the grounds and did not see any thing that might have caused anyone to fear. But they do not have electronic locks so it's still hard key, I could not help but wonder how many copies were made over the years and are still somewhere out there...

My daughter booked this place for her family and ours for this week. We don't leave out till this Sunday. The location was great, the price was good, pool was great, cleaning staff was very nice. The parking was a little tight but got use to it. The beds was very comfortable. Air conditioner worked great. Being right on the beach was totally awesome. I would like to see them update this room. It would go along way to invest a little. But there is no phone, which was ok since we had a cell phone and there was no clock.

Great experience. Front desk people were very nice and it was an easy process we booked the day of. The room was clean and spacious and plenty of towels, bed was comfy and room didn’t smell either. Coming here again!

I loved the location being close to the boardwwalk. I wish they had blowdryers as I forgot mine & really needed to dry my hair in a hurry to go to Opry show, so I ended up not taking any pictures there. The access to the beach was nice too. The pool was crowded but felt really nice since it was 95 degrees. I wish the coffee maker was bigger & also the bathroom vanity needed to be bigger.Hot water took forever to get to my room. Overall it was nice for the price.Old hotel but clean & convenient & really nice staff in housekeeping & maintenance.I would stay again!

Quaint older motel. Nice pool, on the other side are ocean view rooms! Laundry makes it easy, lots to do on boardwalk and your right in the middle of the boardwalk. Room was large, clean. I love the historic motels rather than the corporate high rises. You might not get all you would in a corporate hotel but the feeling of being in a 1950 motel it's great! Great price too.
